DALLAS, HYDERABAD, USA, EUROPE, INDIA, June 1, 2017 —
Telangana Academy for Skill and Knowledge (TASK) today announced that it has completed 26 Finishing School batches in Telangana with an average success rate of 50% overall in placing the students in various organizations. Prior to formation of TASK in Telangana, a small percentage of youth graduating out of the colleges were securing jobs and the rest struggled to make their mark due to lack of employability skills.
In 2015, TASK was established for enhancing the employability skills of the youth in Telangana under the dynamic leadership of Honorable Minister Mr. KT Rama Rao.
One of the unique initiatives launched through TASK was Finishing School, where the unemployed youth are trained in relevant Technology, Soft Skills and are extended placement assistance with corporates.
TASK not only helps unemployed youth, but also offers skill training to School/College dropouts. TASK has also been instrumental in running specialized Finishing School batches for People with Disabilities (PWDs) to improve their employable skills and assists them in getting jobs. The Finishing School batches to PWDs and BPL youth are extended free of cost and highly subsidized for others.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Sujiv Nair, CEO -TASK said – Through the Finishing School concept TASK has made a humble beginning towards creating hope for unemployed youth through skilling. This concept also address’s one of the key focus areas of the Honorable Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao Garu in creation of Golden Telangana.
Finishing School is an 8-12 weeks focused skilling program based on industry needs. Technologies focused for these Finishing School include C, C++, Java, Core Java, Microsoft Technologies, Mobile Applications on Android, Software Development, Testing, VLSI, Electrical Substation Design ,Basics of Pharmaceutical Activities, Office Administration, Selling & Retail Skills and Phlebotomy which were delivered in collaboration with local, national and international organizations.
The youth were also oriented around personal and organizational skills which helped them in preparing for interviews and understanding corporate culture. The youth from these finishing schools secured jobs in several organizations that include IT, ITES, Retail, Sales, Pharmaceuticals, BFSI, Healthcare and Life Sciences.
Mukkala Swana Sree said, “I am a 2015 B.Tech pass out student from CSE Stream. After completion of B.Tech, I got to know about TASK that extends Finishing School program for passed out students where they provided foundation for the basic knowledge and improves our skills for accomplishing our dreams. They provide programs about different kinds of Technologies. They define our skills and makes us confident. Not only in the Technical field but improve our communication skills. It is a great platform for the different opportunists. It makes out best out of better. TASK gave me opportunity to be part of the Finishing School program. After completion of the training program I got placed in Tech Mahindra, they made me to achieve my dream of becoming a Software Engineer.“
Inspired by the success story in IT/ITES sector, TASK is all set to replicate this success to other industry verticals and will look to collaborate with leading global organizations in that space to create a right skill pool to meet the global demand in those sectors. TASK is all poised for the horizontal growth and continue to revamp skilling initiatives for the youth of Telangana.
